Admin Jan 21, 2025 06:15 PM

A stock market, equity market, or share market is the aggregation of buyers and sellers of stocks (also called shares), which represent ownership claims on businesses; these may include securities listed on a public stock exchange as well as stock that is only traded privately, such as shares of private companies

The stock market in India is a vibrant and dynamic marketplace where securities, such as stocks and bonds, are bought and sold. It primarily comprises two major exchanges: the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The BSE, established in 1875, is the oldest stock exchange in Asia, while the NSE, founded in 1992, is the largest in terms of volume traded. The Indian stock market plays a critical role in the country's economy by facilitating capital formation, providing investment opportunities, and enabling companies to raise funds for expansion. It also offers a platform for investors to share in the profits of publicly traded companies. Regulatory oversight is provided by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which ensures fair practices and protects investors' interests. With a growing economy, the Indian stock market has become an attractive destination for both domestic and international investors.
